One of Infinity
Apr 10, 2025
Out of, perhaps, infinite universes, you find yourself in this one. The descendant of an explosion billions of years ago, the result of myriad collisions and impacts to result in a somewhat stable solar system replete with billions of stars and countless planets.
Of all of those, you find yourself here, on this one. Somewhat stably (for now) orbiting a somewhat stable (for now) star long enough, and at such a precise distance and composition as to enable the molecules this planet hosts to initiate self replication.
Proteins making proteins so complex they evolved to eventual self-awareness. Countless proteins over billions more years, to create countless creatures, including those that would come to call themselves humans.
Of those billions of humans who have existed, you find yourself here, being this one.
Perhaps in another time, or another place, you are another. But for here, for now, you are you.
The latest link in a chain of events that need not have happened, but did.
Your physical body? It is the heir of intergalactic collisions, melting planets, and exploding stars. The resultant consequence of matter that ended up in the right time and place to become uniquely you.
Your ancestors? The most hardscrabble survivors of a ruthless chain of evolution. Even humanity's recent history is replete with wars, famines, floods... of disastrous horrors and seemingly infinite pain and heartache.
All to create you.
This singular experience of being, precisely, you.
So go and be.
Be you.
Be as you as you can be.
To be anything less is to waste all of this that has lead to you.
